A Thankful Thanksgiving

With thanksgiving just a couple of days away, I thought it would be appropriate to share some of the things I am thankful for this year (and let me add that these are in no particular order):
1. Faith and Family —
Happy I have them, couldn’t survive without them. They are my life.
2. Teenagers…two of them —
The teen crowd makes life interesting. I have one teeny-bopette who’s finding her own style, and one teen-cool-dude that only cares about when he can get his driver’s license. But it’s not just them, it’s their friends too. And I am totally enjoying watching and listening to them be so excited about life, the highs and the lows…
oh, the drama of it all.
3. Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Lattes —
What more needs to be said?!
4. Gas prices —
If you had told me that someday I would be thrilled about $1.89 a gallon…I’d have thought you crazy. But, WooHoo! Yippee!!
5. Writing —
Oh, the insatiable drive to create, my passion, my therapy! And the wonderful friends I’ve made in the process, people with whom to commiserate and celebrate!
6. Orange Lutheran —
The caring teachers, the awesome education, the amazing coaches, and football! The SSS gang, “It’s the power of the ring, baby!” And O Lu plays Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks in the Game of the Week, this Friday at Santa Ana Bowl for the CIF Pac-5 Division quarterfinals. Halle-LU-jah!
7. Holidays —
Love them! Everything about them…family, friends, decorating, cooking, celebrating.

8. Blogging —
I’m so happy I got up the courage to blog. I LOVE blogging. And I adore and appreciate my readers…I’m thankful for you.
9. Children’s Hospital —
It’s been a tough couple of years with my daughter’s health, and I want to thank the doctors, nurses, child life specialists, and other staff for their wonderful, caring, and loving support.
10. My Country, the good ol’ U.S.A. —
The freedoms we have and usually take for granted, those who fight to protect our freedom, and this grand and glorious country.

What a wonderful blog! This is my favorite time of year
Abi, can I just link to your post tomorrow? I’m totally out of ideas and I’ve committed myself to two more days…
Ha! That would be okey-dokey by me, Elana. Your Thanksgiving posts have been superfantabulous!
Abi
Cole,
I love this time of year too. And not just for the turkey dinner. It’s the whole feel of the season…wonderful.
